poured inks on wood panel

sold

This is one of the first paintings I ever completed using India, acrylic and watercolour inks.

I started pouring the inks together to see where they might lead. I had no idea of what I was doing, really, and no idea of what kind of painting it would be. At one point I despaired that there was too much paint on the wood panel and not enough white/negative space.

But then, everything seemed to come together and it all seemed to balance out. It became rich in colour and themes. There was sunlight and moonscapes, trees, and people and all were in love with each other. It came to represent what is alive in me.
